Sewing Case

Th

A few months back a did a hand stitching class. It was a lot of fun and I learnt some wonderful techniques.
The above photo is of the appliquéd Annie that is on the front cover. This is 3D applique.

This photo is of the inside

Such a lot of fun to make. Hand stitching is certainly time consuming but worth the effort. My sewing machine was not used at all to make this.  The size would be about A5.  Perfect to store my large scissors in

I hope your having a great weekend

Useful Tools

I realised why my Tilda Doll was in the too hard basket!
I lost my hemostat tool months ago and I really do not like trying to turn the doll arms etc without it.

Well, my hubby found it the other day!  I am celebrating.. so I will now get onto making my doll.
I highly recommend this tool for turning out doll parts.
I found some HERE  at the Cloth Doll Supply shop.
They come in three different sizes.

I highly recommend them. In the Tilda Doll Kits there is a kebab type stick in it for turning out the doll. This works but it makes the job very fiddly.

Also, I new tool I came across at a Lynette Anderson class a couple of weeks ago.

Apliquick Tool
Click HERE to visit their Facebook page
This tool is amazing to use with a bit of Rosanne Fabric glue your applique will never be the same.

Lynette and I with the class sample

Handstitched piecing... Yes.. Lynette handstitches hers.. and I can see why!

Making progress with my block...  Using Lynette's new Christmas Fabrics

Lynette at work

Those tools are amazing!! All done with glue Applquick and then the stitching

Not pressed yet... but Im happy with it.

Have a great day.

It is the Tilda purse pattern made with felt and Cath Kidston fabric inside and for the heart.

I used Tilda thread to do the bullion rose

Neddlefelted cherries with hand embroidery

The inside with a Tilda heart attached on the side

 and my new purchased,..
linen
DMC thread
zips

I have a number of ideas for this... watch the space.

Im addicted!!! .....

Teatowel inspired by Scandinavian Stitches

This week has been a week of inspiration for me
Some of my 'to do list' is now being conquered.
Things I have been wanting to make and just havent been able to find the 'get up and go' to do it are now getting done. I have done crochet, stitching, sewing and I have gone through my numerous BOM pile and felt inspired to pick the Clown BOM and finish it...

A few months back I purchased the book
Scandinavian Stitches by Kajsa Wikman

The teatowel above was inspired by the picture on the front cover of this book.

I used a ribbon or chimney and just cut out the pieces freehand.
I just LOVED doing this. Im a real freedom girl when it comes to being creative. I just love to do my own thing. I just love the little house and the hanging angel on the front cover too.... they will be on my 'to do list' for Christmas.

This teatowel will either go into my 'present stash' that I want to build up or I will keep it for myself.

Have a great weekend

I was blog surfing last night and I came across these
The above tutorial is at Aesthetic Nest. A crochet dishcloth.

and a method I saw twice online last night and I have never heard of before
Starch Applique method. It looks fantastic and I am going to give it a try
This tutorial was at Sew Mama Sew

I have made six placemats. I have nearly finished them. Maybe they will be finished before the weekend.
They are round with appliqued daisies on them. They are looking pretty good.
I am feeling very inspired after visiting Catherine on Monday. I am now on a roll to sew, crochet and knit. I have reconnected with my creative inspiration which as been lost since December last year
