I Love Fabric Design made up ...

I Love Fabric Stitchery Duffle Bag

I am off to the Calico Christmas Show in a few weeks time. I needed a bag to put all my goodies into. I don't have a large bag, so I decided to design one using the new stitchery pattern I designed.

The above photo is of the new bag creation

This is a circular bag

Old lace used with beads as a bag closure

Large handles.. in fact they are very wide and long.

Bag closure close up

Back of bag.. I am going to add some fabric flowers

Inside of bag...

So that is my new design..

I may bring out a pattern soon... Just have to find the motivation to type it up..

I hope you are all having a great weekend...

Free Stitchery Pattern

A few posts back I said that I would offer some free stitchery patterns in preparation for my feature on Snickerdoodles as a designer coming up in November.

Here is a glimpse of the first free pattern
To obtain this you must email me and I will send you a PDF for it.
The above picture is of just half of the picture... This picture is A4 size. It would look great on a sewing bag... the little lady is carrying quilts and in her hands she has a couple of bags.

This picture got the approval of my family before being offered to you so thats a start in my confidence!

So please feel free to email me
lydiastreasures@gmail.com
Dont be shy... I dont bite!

Oh, and Full of Hearts ladies... I haven't forgotten you. I will endeavour to finish writing the next block up this week.

Pocket Angel

On the weekend I had a huge cleanout of my sewing room.  I discovered many things that have been on my 'to do list'. I found the clean up quite inspiring.... to say the least.

The creation I made yesterday is Pocket Angel.. pattern by Jill Maas. This little lady has been on my 'to do list' for quite sometime..and I decided to get her made up. I am a novice at this kind of doll making. She is the fourth doll of Jill's patterns that I have made. The first face I made was a disaster and I had to do another one.. Im not overly happy with this face, but it will do..

Now on to the next thing on the 'to do list'....

Lil Ole Annie doll

Lil Ole Annie
Pattern by Oh Sew Dollin

As you can see this little Annie is pink. My girlfriends little girl is turning two and she likes pink...so I made her a pink Annie! She also has a blanket ... it is back with polar fleece.

I hope the new owner will love her new dolly.

Have a good weekend

My latest creation in progress

This new design is the front cover of a booklet Im making for my work tools and cottons. This is my own design. The flowers, vase and leaves are made from wool felt that I purchased from Annie Downs shop in Australia. I have done hand stitchery for the veins of the leaves and for the swirly's. The flowers are 3D. This was a design that just came to me as I stood looking at the fabrics and felt... trying to dream up a creation. The inside in in progress. I have made pockets for two pairs of scissors, pincuchion and pockets for my cottons, as well as a place to put my needles. I will show the finished product next week...

Oh and I just found my tutorial for my felt rose on DIY Weddings, a blog for Wedding Channel.com I felt quite excited to see what was said about it. One of the suggestions was to scatter them on the reception tables.. and for flowers girl hairband... click HERE to view their blog or go to the sidebar to go to the page.

I hope you are having a great weekend

Hugs

A gift for a friend

My friend had a baby a few weeks back. I wanted to make her something for her new little man. I had some Debbie Mumm fabrics in my stash that I just thought were perfect for a little carseat blanket. So this is the finished creation. I love making carseat blankets, I have made a number of them for baby presents over the years.

One of my other very favourite gifts to give when a baby is born is a 'baby cake'. This cake is made out of disposable nappies.. Im sure you have seen these cakes around. My cakes I make are one or two tiers high. With this cake I put in some of my hand embroidered booties and a mathcing beanie

I add rattles, bottles, soxs, and many other baby gifts to them and wrap them in cellophane. If there are any requests I will consider doing a tutorial for this.. please just ask through the comments or email me.

I also wanted to share with you some ideas of what I did for my daughters 4th birthday, last year.

I am a shabby chic lover, as you can tell by these photos.
I set the food table up like this.

Pink and blue was the theme.

My husband made up a make shift table and I made the tissue paper pom poms.
These are very easy and quick to make. The idea came from Martha Stewart.

So that is just some more things that I wanted to share with you

I hope you are all having a great day.
Here in Auckland today the weather is beautiful.. spring is here
Sadly, the people in Christchurch, the South Island of New Zealand are having a terrible time. The situation is grim to say the least... we are so very thankful that noone was killed. The after shocks sound like they are just as horrifying as the actual event.

Take care
