Im back and here's my House Cushion ...

All computer issues are finally sorted. This afternoon I picked up the laptop and now Im having to reload different things and work my way around it all again..

The good news is I havnt lost a single photo!! and the guy told me I had to think about getting an external hardrive because of all the photos I have taken!! LOL  I will blame that on being a blogger...

Anyway... Here is one of my latest creations...

I didnt have a pattern for this. I saw a photo of something that Tilda has done... but it is smaller and flatter. I created this with being a doorstop in mind, but I changed my mind about that. It is a cushion. I have used Tilda plywood buttons, that Brit sent me (my swap partner from Norway) and I have added some handstitchery. I decided to enhance the cushion with a chain stitch around the applique.. not the conventional way, I know, but I dont always do conventional... I didnt want the buttonhole look so decided to do something abit different. The gingham fabric I found a couple of weeks ago for this very project..... this is all the beginning of my Tilda bedroom do up...

I have been thinking lately about what my forte' is with crafting. I have to say that stitching is one thing that I have been doing since I was about 10years old and is my forte'.  I have decided to give you more of an idea of  my forte' for the rest of the year..... so I am hoping to make and create things that are what I do best. I havnt really posted alot of my BEST. So keep an eye out for ribbon embroidery, stitchery and some pretty things that I have in mind... I created some roses made out of Sculpey today... When they are dry I will add them to one of my creations and show you...

Thanks Bunny and Helena for emailing me... Im still waiting to hear from Katie Q...

Take care

My new Tilda Doll and ...

Yesterday I made this Tilda doll. She is made from Tilda fabrics, ribbon and a Tilda button. I am really delighted with her. She is quite tall. I made a yo-yo and put one of the plywood buttons in the middle, this is what she is holding in her hand.  She is a mix of one pattern idea and another in the Sew Pretty book. The above picture is of the yoyo and button... rather pretty dont you think?

Tilda has roses on her shoes and here is the full length photo of her surrounded by some of my favourite crockery
Her face.

And Full of Hearts is finally finished... all bound up and ready to hang on the wall.
I have use two fabrics in the binding... all with the red in it. I didnt have enough fabric of one of the reds so I mixed them up. I am so pleased with the final quilt.. it is just so pretty.... and I just love pretty...

Wool felt pincushions

As I said in the last post I received an order of patterns at the end of last week. In amongst the patterns that I had ordered were some May Blossoms patterns. I have to say that I just love these designs. I ordered some kits for these cute little things and for the cupcakes... the cupcakes are cut out and ready for me to handsew.

These little cakes above are all handsewn and very simple to make. I have found a new love, working with wool felt.. it is just so lovely to use, the needle just goes through so easily and it is so lovely to work with. I have one more of the cakes to make from the pattern... a little more fiddley and needs a bit more time, adding the beads...but Ill get to that during the week.

Click HERE to enter my giveaway. I will only accept comments left on the giveaway post, as it starts to get a little confusing.

Well today I got to sewing.
This is what I made
Phoebe is a pattern by Melly and Me.
I made a slight mistake while making little Phoebe and I had to think of something to cover it up..so I came up with a felt rose..

So little Phoebe got dressed up with a rose on her head.
If you would like to purchase a pattern for Phoebe I have a couple in stock at the moment

This will be news to my regular followers but  I sell Melly and Me patterns and many other Australian designers patterns. I have been doing so for a number of months. I have a website up and running but I have decided to now have a blog shop going instead. It is alot easier for me to update. I just cannot get my head around the updating a website so for the moment and a blogshop it will be. I have been selling these patterns for about 8 months now on an auction site. I havent mentioned it on here, I have no explanation as to why.. but there's some news for you :-)

I have cut out Magoo the Monkey today. I am making him for my little 3 year old boy to take on the plane when we fly off in a few weeks. I will put him up on my blog in the next few days.. I managed to source some very cool fabrics for Mr Magoo.

My Charm Pack Bag is finished

Well if you read my post this morning I was saying how I have been looking for a Charm Pack bag pattern. I couldnt find one that used ONE charm pack. So I set to designing one myself. This charming (excuse the pun!)bag  is made from just one charm pack. I am so delighted with the finished product. I started on this yesterday and finished it this afternoon.
This fabric is from the Charm Pack by Moda that Pam sent me for the Mother's Day Swap I was in. I am now going to make up more of this bags as they are very addictive!!
I had some square left over that I was going to use for the inside pocket.. I could have done this,  but I used the lining fabric instead. I am going to make a matching zip purse to go with the bag..Ill show you that later.
I may bring the pattern out for this bag.. but there is alot involved in thinking of what to write !! I have done some quirky things that Im not going to find easy to explain...

The other side

Also this morning a mention about my love of Leicen fabrics...
Well the above photo is of some of my stash... most of these are my new fabrics.. I just LOVE them!!

Here is the books that I also love written by some very talented Japanese designers. These books are all in Japanese and I dont understand any of it but the diagrams are good...so I could work it out.

And my new arrival... Yiphee!!!
Tilda!! yes I ordered some Tilda fabric from England and I received it today...also some ribbons by Tilda too... The colours are the muted pinks, duck blue and of course the gorgeous red...

so thats me for the moment...

Catch ya later

A bag I made for a SWAP

Hi all, I recently joined a bag swap through the Snickerdoodles crafty community. I recieved my gorgeous bag from Brita from Norway...which I love and I use it everyday.

This was the third bag I made and 'third time lucky' so the saying goes. It just had to be right and I just wasnt happy with the others I made... they just didnt seem to fit the description of what Brita liked. So here it is below.. I have used Leicen fabrics on this bag... I am a Leicen fan.. I just love their fabrics. I recently found a shop here in Auckland that specialising in Leicen fabrics. So I had a spending spree on stashing up on these gorgeous muted toned fabrics.

Three pansy styled flowers on one side and one the other side I made one large flower but the photo wont show up for some reason.

The inside pocket with a trim on the top

And the pieced handles.

I have been looking online for a pattern to make a bag out of one charm pack... do you think I could find one... No.. so I set to designing one myself. I will have this to show you at some stage.. it is half finished. I am delighted it with it.

Have a good day

Lisa
