My New Tilda Doll

The Flower Garden Angel
Designed by Tonne Finnanger

The Flower Garden Angel

I was just hanging out yesterday to get into the sewing room. I had to make something with my new Tilda fabrics. I have had the book with the pattern for the Flowergarden Angel for  a while now and I was just so inspired to make her up.

As we dont have Tilda fabrics and accessories available here in New Zealand I had to improvise a little.

I used the Tilda hair threads for her hair but I had to create my own flowers, as I dont have the Tilda flowers. I just cut out a small circle and then cut slits around the outside.. creating a flower.

I used a lovely red and white gingham fabric from my stash for the tie

The same flower from the hair are on the shoes.

I didnt have any of the craft rubber for the soles of the sandals so I used felt instead

I didnt have the proper Tilda flower for the tie either so I handcut out another type of felt flower.

So this little lady was made yesterday. She didnt take me too long.. she looks just great sitting up on my table in our bedroom.

My little man is alot better.. just had a VERY bloodshot eye from having a chickenpox on his eyeball.. but other than that he is getting better.. He looks rather hideous with his spots and looks rather pale.. but is on the road to getting better.

Have a great weekend

Tilda Buys!!

Well how am excited was I today when I recieved a parcel all the way from the UK. Last week I placed an order with Puddlecraft for some Tilda goodies. I am sooooo pleased with my purchases I just couldnt wait to share them with you.

In the parcel was some of the most gorgeous fabric... the one in the below right is just yummy! it is sooo yummy I dont want to use it!
I bought some Tilda embroidery threads, so my projects can look just like in the books.
The christmas pack, top left, is just so yummy too! Im not sure what I will make with these, either a doll or some decorations.
The ply wooden buttons.. oh my goodness these are divine! and of course the little strawberries and the red hearts with white spots.
The middle picture is of some more Tilda fabrics, I havent seen before. The pink is a musky pink... so watch the space for what comes out of these gorgeous, yummy goodies!

For those of you who were having trouble downloading the Block six, I have checked the links out and they are working.. please email me back if you are still having trouble and I will email you the PDF.

Not much creating going on here, my 3 year old has the Chicken pox.. poor little guy.. he is being so good. He has them in his mouth, throat and all over his body... so I am looking after him.

Till next time

And last but NOT least.. a handmade card with Tilda!

Thank you Aldina for making this so special for me.

Also, I have made another one of my Quick and Easy Purses.

This one is made from Leicen made in Japan fabrics. I used a wooden button that was purchased on our recent trip to Australia.

I will be putting up a tutorial for this purse in the next little while. I have taken the photos and just need to organise it. I have had a bad headache the last few days so when Im feeling abit better I will do that for you. I have made two different sizes. This one is slightly bigger than the other one I made the other day. I would imagine that once you have made one you will make many more as they are very very quick.

Take care

A little purse and a gift box

I recently visited a blog called Thinking Stamps.. On there Sarah had a cute little purse in a handmade giftbox. Click HERE to visit.  I found this very inspiring. I decided to design my own little purse. I wanted a quick easy pattern.. So I drew it up and have made two in two days.

This afternoon I decided to make the giftbox. I am delighted with both of the finished products. You can guess what will be in the Christmas Stocking for my friends and family this year carn't you?

Cute little purse, I have put tissue into it but it could be a lipstick purse or a coin purse. It is made from a fabric from Quiltgate.

The inside flap, with a gorgeous cotton lace and a self covered button

The gift box
. Stamps are from Stampin up. I have used a vellum for the sleeve.. the box is inside with the purse wrapped in tissue. I think I am addicted. I just LOVED making these little purses and box.

Oh and how could I forget
My Owl made from the pattern from HERE. I just haven't sewn down the wings and he was made in a rush as well. I just had to get my sewing fix a few days ago and decided to make it. They are very quick and fun to make.

Thanks to all of you who have entered my giveaway. This giveaway is to celebrate 40 000 visits. A Tilda gift... of a cute purse or a hanging heart. If you would like to enter click HERE to go to the posting. You will need to commment on there to go into the draw.

Have a good weekend
