This afternoon's creation

I just had to post a picture of the stitchery I did this afternoon... embroidery is my forte'. I love embroidery..I have been stitching since I was about 10 years old.

The inspiration for this stichery came from a candleholder that my daughter bought for me. I have drawn many many of these types of designs.. which I am going to something with.. This is the first one.

I have done hundreds and hundreds of bullion stitches in the last 14 years. I have sold babywear with my own bullion designs on them.. I havnt done this in a while though. I just love to do freehand embroidery. I put the roses and the leaves where I think they should go as Im stitching away.

I will now make this into either the picture on the canvas or a pillow..

So thats me for today... Im on a roll now.. lets see what I come up with over the weekend hehehe ...

Take care

An Easter Bunny, Carrots and Owly Powly Quilt

Well I have been busy today.... I really wanted to make some the carrots from Clare's blog. I downloaded the tutorial today and had a go and making them. Click HERE for the tutorial for the carrots.

My little bunny, he is made from vintage chenille. He is a design I draw up months and months ago but never finished sewing him up.. well today I decided to finish him. He has a base so he is free standing.... So here he is in a basket with the carrots. I made 3 different sizes of these and decorated them with ribbon and some off cuts of fabric. I cute little deocoration to put the kids eggs into for the morning.

Also my Owly Powly quilt. I haven't put the faces on the owls yet, except for one owl.. but he hasnt got a mouth yet. I am very pleased with the outcome so far. I have cutout one other border which I will be adding circles to...I will probably hand applique them on.. Ill see how I go.

So... Happy Easter everyone...

Fat Quarter Apron

Its very quite around my neck of the woods. My hubby is not around today and I am having a very quite day at home with the kids ... Good Friday is always a quite day for us.

I decided to get to the sewing machine this morning. I bought this pattern a few weeks ago. A very effective easy peasy Fat Quarter Apron. This one is made out of 4 fat quarters... others in the pattern are made from 3 or 5 fat quarters. This apron is reversible also... a great way to show of some favourite fabrics. As some of you know pink and red are a favourite for me at the moment. Now I can wear it everyday.

Happy Easter to you all

God bless you
